Our Education Program

Students enrolled in this program are offered a unique opportunity to explore the world of television and radio broadcasting while still in high school. By using up-to-date broadcasting technology, students will be trained in all aspects of radio and television from production to show promotion. 88.5FM – Playing the music you want, giving you the news you need.
WQOX 88.5FM reaches beyond the Memphis metro area, into thousands of homes in the tri-state areas. The station is the perfect training ground for students interested in pursuing a career in Broadcasting. Students play an integral role in the production aspect of programming 88.5FM.
C19TV  – District-Wide News, Board Meeting Live Coverage, Feature Stories, School Sports Coverage, Original Programming, Educational Shows, For You and Your Family

Shelby County Schools’ own cable television station offers a unique learning environment for students, providing them opportunities to create on-air programming as C19TV student reporters, hosts, producers, and directors.

Broadcasting I: Learn the basics about the business of broadcasting.
Broadcasting II: *Get in on the action of creating radio and television programs!
Broadcasting II: *Take on management roles and learn what it takes to run a radio and television station.
* Take part in live broadcast!
* Sharpen communication skills!
* Learn how to shoot and edit video, produce radio and TV shows, promotions and Public Service Announcements.
*Broadcasting II & III are taught at the Telecommunications Center. Broadcasting I is taught at the student’s homeschool/feeder school.
